Let me tell you what the past year actually looked like.

I launched Retirepreneur with real credentials: CPA, former CFO, SBA lender background, a master's degree in entrepreneurship I finished at 63. I had consulting clients. I was doing the work.

What I didn't have was a singular focused model.

So I iterated. A lot.

YouTube channel. Newsletter. No-code tools. A hub with courses and frameworks. Each idea had merit. Each one taught me something. Each one pulled me in a slightly different direction.

That iteration isn't failure. It's the process. But at some point you have to land the plane.

I've landed mine.

And I'm going to show you exactly how I'm building it. Because the same approach works whether you're building a media channel, a consulting practice, or a franchise.

What I'm building

I've launched Main Street Ledger, a financial education channel covering small business acquisitions, SBA lending, and franchise ownership. Seventeen videos published. Built for the long game.

The differentiated product is the Franchise Ledger series: a weekly deep-dive review of specific franchise systems using the kind of financial analysis most people covering this space simply are not trained to do. I am a CFO. I look at these deals differently. That is the whole point.

Alongside the content, I'm building real business relationships. Referral agreements with SBA lenders. Broker relationships with business and franchise brokers. Executed agreements, not just affiliate links.

This is how expertise becomes income. Build the credibility. Build the audience. Formalize the relationships that convert both into revenue.

That's the model. Clear, executable, and built entirely on what I actually know.

Why this is still a Retirepreneur story

I'm not a content creator who stumbled into small business finance.

I'm a CPA and former CFO who spent a career inside SBA lending, small business finance, and entrepreneurship. I'm turning that expertise into a media and referral business. One video, one relationship, one executed agreement at a time.

That is the Retirepreneur model in practice. Not the theory. The real version.

Every step of building it will show up here. The content decisions. The broker outreach. The referral negotiations. The things that work and the things that don't.

Because the lessons from building Main Street Ledger apply directly to your question: how do you take what you've spent a career learning and turn it into income without trading all your time for it?

What stays, what changes

The Retirepreneur website isn't going anywhere. Every article, past newsletter, and resource is still there. Free. No paywall. No subscription required.

What changes is this newsletter.

It becomes a monthly founder's journal. Real numbers. Real decisions. Not a highlight reel.

Every issue will include:

  • One thing I built or decided

  • One thing that didn't work

  • One honest number

  • What it means for your build

First of every month. That's the commitment.

Keep Building!

🔆 That’s a Wrap

One number to start

17 videos published. 0 executed referral agreements.

That's the gap I'm closing this month.

Next issue: what the first broker conversation actually looked like.

What's the business model you keep coming back to? Hit reply and tell me.

Still building,
